The History

Since 2001, Halliday Technologies has been working with the Ohio DOT to develop a system for measuring road traction. The RT3 system measures roadway conditions throughout the entire gradient from dry to ice. This includes the effects of wet, slush, snow and hardpack snow surfaces, with centralized data collection and monitoring.

With continuous monitoring, real-time road condition maps can be created and made available for private or public use. Through the partnership between Halliday and Cargill Deicing, this technology is now widely available for DOT’s and others in need of the latest in winter snowfighting techniques.
