RT3: How It Works

The Real Time Traction Tool™ is attached to the vehicle by a trailer hitch, or mounted under the carriage. The friction-testing wheel is set at a slight angle, reducing any negative effects on the vehicle. This slight sideways orientation creates a force that is measured and converted into an electrical signal that is transferred to the computer located inside the vehicle. By measuring the friction against standard dry pavement, the RT3 outputs real-time information to assist you in your winter maintenance program.
